I always like to stay below 3.5 kilos with my builds, but sometimes you have to make exception. This was one of those times, since I couldn't resist when I purchased this beautiful swamp ash body with its exceptional grain and texture. With all the other specs, the guitar weighs 3.7 kilos, which is still pretty ok for an S-style guitar, especially when you can make up for it in tone!

For this guitar I went with a C-shaped maple neck with 21 jumbo frets and a 9.5" board radius. The playability is really good and the string action is low enough to even start shredding some Eric Johnson-style tunes. Body and neck are connected with Nectite inserts and screws, as we do with all our builds.

The pickups are handwound Q-Pickups from Croatia and the set is leaning towards a hot SRV-style tone. That being said, they are a little overwound to promote low end & mids to compensate a little for the brighter tone, coming out of the swamp ash/maple combination. This time I kept the electronics traditional (without the Blend pot), however the second tone knob will also control the bridge pickup. The tone capacitor is a NOS paper in oil 33nF, which rolls of nicely and keeps the harmonics jumping.

Hardware-wise, we're using the good old Gotoh GE101TS with the steel block for maximum sustain and tone. But to add more mass and stability, the guitar also comes with the Apollo Music Parts trem claw. Gotoh vintage style tuners round the whole thing up.
