The Gamechanger Audio Motor Pedal at a glance

The Gamechanger Audio Motor Pedal is a truly unique electromechanical synthesizer pedal that creates wild, experimental sounds. At its core is an electric motor controlled by a pitch-tracking algorithm, responding to the player’s individual style. The pedal can also be controlled via the included accelerator pedal, allowing real-time speed adjustments or the creation of stepless vibrato effects. Combined with five distinct engine modes and numerous modulation options, the Motor Pedal delivers an unprecedented palette of experimental tones, perfect for sound tinkerers and designers.

Sophisticated sounds with electric motor

The integrated electric motor is a three-phase motor that passes three pickups with each revolution. In Motor mode, the pure sound of the motor can be heard, with its speed adapting to the frequency of the input signal in a 3:1 ratio. For example, playing an A at 440 Hz causes the motor to spin at approximately 147 revolutions, producing the same pitch. Maximum speed and acceleration behavior depend on the input voltage of the connected power supply, encouraging experimentation with voltages between 9 and 12 volts.

Five different engine modes

The engine’s operation is defined by five selectable modes. Motor mode reproduces the direct output of the motor, while M Wave mode generates digital waveforms whose pitch is synchronized with the motor. MxD combines both, multiplying the motor’s direct sound with digital waveforms to produce fuzz-like sawing tones. Coil mode uses alternating current to create a singing coil effect for chiptune-style sounds. Finally, VCoder mode generates a carrier frequency from the motor that can be modulated with the guitar signal.

Throttle pedal for real-time control

The Motor Pedal comes with an accelerator pedal for hands-on real-time control. Five modes are available: Accel accelerates the motor, Brake slows it down, Clutch decouples the motor’s speed from the input signal, Drift produces vibrato-like effects when pressed, and Volume mode allows the pedal to control output volume.
