Up for sale is a rare 2011 Limited Run Dave Carpenter Hand-Picked Gibson Les Paul 1959 Historic Reissue (R9), made exclusively for Musician’s Friend.
This guitar is in excellent condition — 9.5/10 basically unplayed. Beautiful flame maple top in Lemon Burst finish.
This limited run features raw materials hand-selected by the experts at Private Reserve Guitars. The figured maple top, mahogany body and neck blanks were chosen based on visual beauty, grain structure, density, and tonal quality.

• Carved figured maple top — Lemon Burst finish
• Solid non-weight-relieved mahogany back
• 1-piece mahogany neck with long tenon
• 1959 rounded neck profile
• 24-3/4” scale length
• 1-11/16” nut width
• 22-fret rosewood fingerboard with acrylic trapezoid inlays
• Single-ply cream binding
• TonePros ABR-1 bridge and stopbar tailpiece with deep studs
• Nickel hardware
• Thin toggle switch washer and jackplate
• Vintage tulip tuners
Custom Gibson “Live Buckers” pickups (based on original 1957 specs):
• Bridge: 5500 wind, “42E” wire, Alnico 5, ~8.4k
• Neck: 4800 wind, “42” wire, Alnico 5, ~7.3k
• Long TonePros steel anchors and studs
Four Push/Pull pots:
• Bridge Volume: Split coil (Bridge)
• Neck Volume: Split coil (Neck)
• Bridge Tone: Phase Reversal
• Neck Tone: Kill Switch
