We’ve seen quite a few Sandies over the years, but this CC#4 is likely one of the most beautiful: incredible grain, a gorgeous “Dirty Lemon Sunburst” and a superbly authentic vintage patina that comes extremely close to the ’59 original. But sonically, too, this Les Paul is top-notch! Even played unamplified it delivers an exceptional tonal character with the two Zebra humbuckers transmitting superb sustain and substance to the amp. Fans of a top-tier rock Les Paul will be thoroughly satisfied here. Played clean, it’s extremely nuanced, vivid and three-dimensional; with distortion, it’s punchy, fat and uncompromising. Sandys are already hard to come by on the used market, but you definitely shouldn’t let a fantastic specimen like this one slip away.
