The JR-608 is a neck-through baritone instrument engineered for extended-range exploration and articulate response across eight strings. Built in collaboration with Javier Reyes of Animals As Leaders, this guitar balances precision fretting with the sustain and tonal clarity demanded by progressive and experimental players working with complex techniques.
Build & ConstructionA 5-piece maple/walnut/padauk neck-through body pairs with swamp ash and a quilted maple top to deliver structural integrity and harmonic resonance. The 27" baritone scale enables responsive articulation across the full eight-string range, while the thin U neck contour with 13.7" radius accommodates both traditional and extended playing approaches without compromising access to upper frets.
Playability & ElectronicsA macassar ebony fingerboard fitted with 24 extra jumbo frets and custom abalone offset block inlays supports precision work and aggressive attack. Electronics center on a pair of Fishman Javier Reyes Open Core Humbuckers with a mini-toggle voice select switch for tonal flexibility, master volume and tone controls, and a 5-way blade pickup switch; hardware includes a Hipshot bridge with string-thru-body setup and LTD locking tuners for stable intonation across all eight strings.
