AIWA HHB 1 PRO professional portable DAT recorder kit, circa 1991, made in Japan.
Former Dublin City University research equipment. The recorder was obtained directly from DCU after being used/stored as research equipment.
The complete kit includes:
- AIWA HHB 1 PRO DAT recorder
- Original AIWA AC-746K power supply
- AIWA RC-ATY wired remote control
- Behringer ECM8000 measurement microphone
- Yoga EM-8 electret condenser microphone
- DAT cassette(s)
- Original operating manual
- Various cables and accessories shown in the photographs
- Fitted metal professional flight case
Condition: Sold as non-functioning / for repair.
The unit powers on correctly and the LCD display and backlight operate. The cassette mechanism initially opened normally. When a DAT cassette was inserted, the mechanism attempted to load it, but the display then showed a flashing “CAUTION” warning and the transport controls would not operate. The cassette is currently inside the recorder and does not eject.
No attempt has been made to dismantle or repair the unit. It is therefore being sold as requiring service/repair, with no guarantee regarding further functionality.
Cosmetic condition is very good for its age. The recorder and complete kit have been very well kept, with only minor cosmetic wear from age and storage. Please refer to the photographs for the exact condition.
