Complete Capacitor Repair Kit for Roland JP-8000 — Mainboard + Power Supply

This kit contains all the SMD electrolytic capacitors for the Roland JP-8000 mainboard, plus all the power supply capacitors.

The JP-8000 is well known for problems caused by failing capacitors — most commonly low output volume and distortion. While you could replace only the faulty capacitor, your best option is to replace them all. Electrolytic capacitors age faster than other components, so sooner or later more of them will cause trouble.

The SMD capacitors in this kit are top-quality Panasonic parts rated for 5,000 hours at 105 °C — five times the expected life of the originals. Following many requests, I've now updated the kit to include the power supply capacitors as well. These THT capacitors from Nichicon have the same dimensions as the originals but better specs: 105 °C rating (instead of 85 °C) and a longer service life.

Finally, also by customer request, the kit includes 12 tact switches. These are often faulty on the JP-8000, especially in the sound patch section — since you'll have the synth open anyway, it's the perfect time to replace them too.

I will also provide repair instructions, along with the software and files needed to update the firmware to the latest version and restore the factory presets.

Installing these capacitors requires some soldering and desoldering skills. If you're not comfortable doing this kind of work, you can take the kit and the synthesizer to a local electronics repair shop — they'll be glad to do it for you.
