After numerous collaborations with funk high-flyers Vulfpeck and the Fearless Flyers, Cory Wong has become a serious name in funk with his loose but tight rhythm chops. Reason enough for Fender to provide the exceptional guitarist with the Fender Cory Wong Stratocaster RW Daphne Blue, a Signature electric guitar inspired by his favourite Strat. Here, some interesting features characterize the unique Strat design, and the signature model to elicit an extremely comfortable playability and personalized switching options.

Compared to the traditional measure of the US Strat, the Cory Wong Stratocaster relies on a slimmed-down body made of alder, which with its smooth contours allows for a particularly comfortable playing position. Together with a Modern D neck profile familiar from the American Ultra models and a compound fingerboard radius that rises from 10 to 14 inches, this results in a successful combination that allows for easy-to-reach funk Chords and carefree rhythm work by the right hand.

Of course, Cory Wong's signature instrument features two of his custom Seymour Duncan Cory Wong Clean Machine single coils and a Clean Machine Custom stack on the bridge. The pickups, designed with a focus on lively and percussive clean sounds, are switched via a 5-way blade switch and the classic knob layout. To avoid accidental switching of the blade switch while playing, it can be easily removed from the circuit via the push/push function of the second tone knob and remain permanently in Cory's preferred switch position 4.

The hardware features of the Cory Wong Strat combine classic and modern Strat features and are formed by a synchronized vintage-style tremolo and six Deluxe Cast/Sealed tuning machines with locking functions, which guarantee particularly easy string changes and reliable tuning stability. The Fender Cory Wong Stratocaster comes with a matching Deluxe Hardshell Case and an additional Cory Wong Hair Tie, which serves to dampen the tremolo springs for Cory's unique Rhythm Tone.
