Fender Custom Shop Stratocaster "Stratoblaster" 2000s owned by Mike Wanchic

This Fender Custom Shop Stratocaster is part of the private collection of John Mellencamp's guitarist Mike Wanchic & Echo Park Studios.

The ’61 Stratocaster is a pivotal model in the history of Fender with quarter-sawn maple necks and a 10″ radius for exceptional playability.

The two Strats in Mike’s shop are exceptionally unique.

Mike had sent his ’61 Olympic White Strat to the Fender Custom shop and had them duplicate it twice in signature sunburst (one with black accent and one with white) and these are the results. He had these guitars set up with his signature “Stratoblaster” onboard pickup boosts.

These guitars are nearly perfect and full of punch. Necks feel smooth and excellent with low action and crisp clear electronics. Round glow in the dark sticker input so Mike would be able to plug in his guitar on a dark stage without issue. Little to no scuffing or wear.

This is complete with white pickups and white tortoise shell accent. These are excellent one of a kind rare custom pieces toured with Mellencamp for years.
