The first time we met Declan McKenna, back in 2019, a few of us accompanied him to Chicago Music Exchange, where he found a sparkly custom Telecaster that's been with him ever since.
In August this year, back in town for what turned out to be a triumphant show at Lollapalooza, Declan had a bunch more gear in tow.
A lawsuit SG he chanced upon, a couple of must-have Judders, a strange Ovation electric, a red Hofner violin bass, a vintage Bassman, an UDO Audio Super 6… these were just some of the highlights.
Ahead of a new leg of his US tour, which kicks off September 27—find all the dates at his website—he talked us through his wonderful live setup for his Lollapalooza aftershow at Chicago's Bottom Lounge.
