Akai GX F-25 2-Head Cassette Deck GX F 25 Japan 1981

A well-constructed tape deck from the early 80s with GX heads and super playback. The Akai GX-F25 is a stereo tape deck manufactured in Japan between 1981 and 1983. It is a well-known cassette deck featuring Akai's highly durable GX (Glass and Crystal) tape heads. The deck has and a stylish, minimalist 1980s aesthetic with characteristic colorful digital VU-meter placed horizontally on the center of the from panel.

It’s a single compact cassette deck with Hard Permalloy / GX record and playback combination head. The deck has very good recording / playback features thanks to the low Wow & Flutter range (0.04%). The ‘Auto System’ Memory Stop & Play feature stops / plays the tape as per the marked time code.

This is a completely restored item with new idlers, new belts. Apart from the rubber tires, all parts are original. The device was tested, all features work properly. It records and plays back smoothly as you can hear in this video.
