Important notes: A beautiful, rare, light weight (3.5LB!) 1933 Martin R-18 in Sunburst. It is all original, the neck was professionally reset and the guitar plays beautifully. For a portion of the guitar's life it was played left-handed, hence why the pickguard was installed on the bass side of the guitar at one one point in its life before returning to its original spot. Overview

Martin produced the R-series of archtops from 1932 to 1942. These guitars failed to earn much attention from players in their day, though are well-regarded by some modern collectors. The R-18 was the first entry in the R-series. Initially, the top was arched with bracing, but by 1937, the R-18 used a carved top.
