The Eastman MD315E mandolin is entirely handmade using only traditional materials and "old world" craftsmanship with a solid spruce top and solid maple back and sides. It also has an ebony fingerboard and adjustable ebony bridge. The F-style sound box with F sound holes provide good tone and projection of the sound. The K&K pickup also ensures that the mandolin comes into its own when amplified.

At Eastman, the guitar and mandolin makers work exclusively in workshops where all instruments are made by hand from the best available wood, where all instruments are also made by the top instrument makers.
