Vintage Neve 1073 matched pair consecutive serial numbers

For sale is an exceptionally rare and beautifully preserved matched pair of original vintage Neve 1073 modules, serial numbers 5731/K and 5732/K. These are consecutive serial numbers from the early Kelso production period

Both modules are in exceptional original condition, with front panels that remain remarkably clean

while the chassis show only natural patina consistent with their age.

both modules are completely original and untouched internally. The original Neve cards, original Marinair transformers, original components, wiring, switches and potentiometers are all retained. There are no modifications or restoration work.

the modules are currently working and have deliberately been left completely original. However, for a buyer intending to use them regularly in a recording environment, I would suggest having the electrolytic capacitors professionally checked and considering a recap where appropriate due to their age. I have personally recapped other Neve modules that I am keeping, and in my experience the difference was significant, with improved overall performance and what I perceived as more extended low and high frequencies. These modules have not been recapped because I feel that the decision should be left to the new owner. A collector may prefer to preserve them exactly as they are, while a working studio may prefer to have the electrolytics serviced for optimum reliability and performance.

This is therefore not a rebuilt or cosmetically restored pair; it is an opportunity to acquire two genuine early-production Neve 1073s in their original state, with all of the original components and construction preserved. The natural patina on the chassis has been left completely untouched.
