Catalinbread's exact recreation of the Maestro Echoplex EP-3 — the only thing missing is the tape. In its place is a 24-bit digital delay line, but everything else is period-correct: the 22-volt internal power rail (converted from a standard 9V input), the JFET preamp, the silicon transistor record/playback amplifiers, and the feedback loop that made the original famous for its self-oscillation.
Six Echo Programs on tap: the classic EP-3 voicing, a darker Bucket Brigade analog delay, a Rotary Speaker mode, a Resonant Filter mode, and two Deluxe Memory Man-style settings with different modulation flavors. Delay time runs 80–800ms, same range as the real EP-3. Depth, Record Level, Echo Volume, and Echo Sustain round out the front panel, and the Record Level control is what lets you drive that preamp into its own overdrive — a big part of the original unit's charm.
Expression pedal input on the back, with a front-panel toggle to switch it between controlling delay time or the mode-specific function (filter sweep, rotary speed, playback volume). Internal slide switch sets true bypass or trails mode, and there's a footswitch-activated oscillation latch for runaway self-oscillation on demand.
9V DC power only. Tour-tough metal chassis.
