2000 Fender American Deluxe Precision Bass V, made in USA. Serial DZ0257692 (DZ0 prefix = 2000), first-generation run of this model.
Alder body in 3-Color Sunburst, maple neck with graphite reinforcement rods, pau ferro fingerboard with abalone dot inlays, 22 medium jumbo frets, 34" scale, 18V active 3-band EQ.
I bought it in the USA in 2014.
Pickups — Delano
The bass is fitted with Delano pickups: a split-coil in the neck position and an MM-style humbucker at the bridge. They were already installed when I bought it, so I can't say who did the work or when. Delano is a German boutique maker used by builders like Sandberg, Marleaux and Mayones — a serious upgrade over stock, with more attack, tighter lows and a fat StingRay-ish bridge sound.
The original Fender pickups are included, in a box.
Other modifications
The pickguard has been replaced. The original tortoiseshell pickguard is included — see photos.
Condition
Electronics fully working. The 18V preamp works as it should, all pots are quiet, no crackle.
Neck is straight, truss rod works.
Frets in good shape with plenty of life left. I can't confirm whether they were ever replaced.
The G tuner key is very slightly bent — barely visible in the photos. Works perfectly.
Light dings on the body edges, shown in the photos.
