Gibson L-5 N from the diagonal script logo era.A rare specimen from early 1949.This L-5 is a testament to superb wood and craftsmanship.The serial number label (A28xx) and FON stamp (37xx) inside the body are both clearly visible.The golden combination of long scale and parallel bracing.Refret and re-nut work have been performed, ensuring comfortable playability.The pickguard stays have been replaced, and the pickguard itself may also be a replacement.Although the strap pin on the shoulder has been re-set, the guitar retains a high degree of originality and is in excellent condition.Comes with the original hard case.Please contact us for more details.

Overview

Originally built by legendary Gibson luthier, Lloyd Loar, the Gibson L-5 is an extremely collectible acoustic archtop. The earliest L-5s are the most prized, but later examples like those from the '50s are still very highly regarded instruments. Starting in 1939, a cutaway version was produced which lasted until 1982.
