Crews Maniac Sound is a respected Japanese boutique brand based in Tokyo, known for high-quality instruments produced in relatively small numbers.

If you're looking for a Fender-style Precision but want something far less common, this is exactly where Japanese boutique basses get interesting.

Built in Japan in 2017, this NPB Custom combines the simplicity and familiarity of a classic P-Bass with the craftsmanship, hardware and attention to detail Crews Maniac Sound is known for — and unlike most Crews instruments offered in Europe, this one comes complete with its original hard case and factory documentation.

This NPB Custom takes the traditional Precision Bass concept and gives it a distinctly Japanese boutique execution: a two-piece alder body, maple neck and maple fingerboard, Crews P-style pickup, Gotoh reverse-wind tuners and Crews' distinctive spiral-saddle bridge.

The Capri Orange finish combined with the maple fingerboard gives the bass a particularly striking appearance while retaining the simple, functional character of a classic P-style instrument.

Sonically, it delivers exactly what you would expect from this construction: a strong and focused fundamental, clear attack and plenty of midrange definition. The maple fingerboard adds a slightly more immediate character while the passive P-style electronics keep the instrument simple and direct.

The bass weighs 4.1 kg, with an approximately 43 mm nut width giving it the familiar traditional Precision-style feel.

This is not a bass you are likely to see on every stage — or even very often on the European market. If you already know Crews Maniac Sound, you know why that matters. If you don't, this is a very good place to start.

Excellent used condition.

The Capri Orange finish is exceptionally well preserved, with no significant cosmetic damage.
