The 1178 needs no introduction, although it is a very rare specimen!

Consider this: 1178 was most probably used on most of your favourite records. It very closely resemble the 1176 revision H.

It is a true classic of professional audio gear, it was inducted into the Technology Hall of Fame in 2008. It uses Field Effect Transistor, or FET, as a voltage divider to accomplish the task of compression, in conjunction with I/O transformers and a Class A line level amplifier.

Service log: 2 new replacement VU meters installed and calibrated. Basic calibration of both channels done, switches and pots cleaned. Replaced poor quality "VU 0" trimmer pot in left channel. New cable lugs for input/output terminals made.
