About this listing
The EarthQuaker Devices Dispatch Master V3 combines lush reverb and clear digital delay in one compact, intuitive pedal. Designed for players who want spacious, musical ambience without menus or complicated programming, it can handle everything from subtle room-like depth and slapback echoes to long atmospheric delays, drones and expansive post-rock textures.
Delay and reverb can be used together or independently, giving the Dispatch Master considerably more flexibility than its simple four-knob layout might suggest. The delay offers up to 1500ms / 1.5 seconds, while maximum Repeats produces infinite regeneration without running away into uncontrolled self-oscillation.
Whether you're playing ambient, indie, shoegaze, post-rock or simply want one compact pedal to cover your everyday delay and reverb needs, the Dispatch Master V3 is a particularly easy pedal to integrate into a rig.
Why Choose the Dispatch Master V3?
Delay & Reverb in One Compact Pedal
The Dispatch Master combines two of the most useful time-based effects in a standard pedalboard-friendly enclosure.
You can run:
Delay + Reverb for full atmospheric sounds.
Delay only by turning Reverb fully down.
Reverb only by turning Time and Repeats fully down.
That makes it an excellent choice for smaller pedalboards where two separate pedals would take up valuable space.
Up to 1.5 Seconds of Delay
The Time control ranges from effectively 0ms through to 1500ms.
That gives you enough range for:
Slapback echo
Short rhythmic repeats
Spacious clean delay
Long atmospheric echoes
Ambient textures
Post-rock delay
Sustained soundscapes
The digital delay has a clear, hi-fi character that works particularly well when combined with the Dispatch Master's smooth reverb.
Infinite Repeats Without Runaway Oscillation
Turn Repeats fully clockwise and the Dispatch Master produces infinite repeats.
The clever part is that EQD deliberately designed the repeats not to run away into self-oscillation.
This makes maximum Repeats particularly useful for creating:
Drones
Ambient beds
Sustained textures
Post-rock layers
Experimental backgrounds
You can create an effectively continuous delay layer without having to fight uncontrollable feedback.
A Surprisingly Flexible Reverb
The Dispatch Master isn't simply a delay with a little reverb added on.
Turn the Time and Repeats controls fully down and you can use it as a dedicated reverb pedal.
There's also a useful hidden feature: in reverb-only mode, the Repeats control adjusts the decay, depth and tonal character of the reverb. Increasing it creates a deeper, thicker response.
EQD characterises the reverb itself as smooth and warm, with enough range to cover relatively traditional amp-style ambience as well as more spacious sounds.
Flexi-Switch – Latching or Momentary
V3 features EarthQuaker Devices' Flexi-Switch relay-based true-bypass switching.
Standard Operation
Tap once to engage the pedal.
Tap again to bypass.
Momentary Operation
Press and hold the footswitch and the Dispatch Master remains active only while you're holding it.
Release the switch and you're immediately back to your dry signal.
This is especially useful for bringing delay and reverb into a single chord, phrase or section without permanently switching the effect on.
Four Simple Controls
Despite the range of sounds available, operation is extremely straightforward.
Mix – Sets the overall balance between dry and effected signal.
Time – Adjusts delay time from 0–1500ms.
Reverb – Determines the amount of reverb.
Repeats – Controls delay regeneration and provides additional reverb shaping when used in reverb-only mode.
There are no screens, presets or secondary menus to navigate.
Dispatch Master V3 vs Avalanche Run
Both combine EQD delay and reverb, but they're aimed at different players.
Choose the Dispatch Master V3 if you want:
Compact dimensions
Straightforward controls
Delay and reverb together
Up to 1.5 seconds of delay
Infinite repeats
No menu diving
Simple mono pedalboard integration
A lower-cost route into EQD's ambient sounds
Choose the Avalanche Run if you need:
Stereo operation
Tap tempo
Delay subdivisions
Reverse delay
Swell mode
Expression control
Deeper performance functionality
EQD actually developed the Avalanche Run in response to requests for a more advanced stereo and tap-tempo expansion of the Dispatch Master concept.
For players who don't need those extra features, the simplicity of the Dispatch Master is arguably its greatest strength.
More Than an Ambient Pedal
The Dispatch Master naturally suits:
Ambient
Post-rock
Shoegaze
Indie
Alternative
Psychedelic
Worship
Experimental music
But it doesn't need to produce enormous soundscapes.
Shorter Time settings and restrained Mix/Reverb levels make it equally useful for conventional rock, blues, country, clean guitar and lead playing.
EQD also provides official sound examples using guitar, bass and keys, so the Dispatch Master isn't limited to electric guitar.
Power Requirements
The EarthQuaker Devices Dispatch Master V3 requires a standard regulated 9V DC power supply with a 2.1mm centre-negative barrel connection.
Current draw is approximately 78mA.
EQD specifically states not to run the Dispatch Master at higher voltages and recommends a pedal-specific or isolated power supply.
One useful ownership point: because the Flexi-Switch system uses relay-based switching, the pedal requires power for signal to pass even while bypassed.
What's Included?

The current Fair Deal Music listing doesn't confirm an included power supply, so I would not advertise a power supply as included on Reverb unless confirmed from the physical stock.
Fair Deal Music Verdict
The EarthQuaker Devices Dispatch Master V3 is a particularly strong choice for musicians who want excellent delay and reverb without turning their pedalboard into a programming exercise.
Best suited for: Ambient, indie, post-rock, shoegaze, alternative and anyone wanting a compact everyday delay/reverb.
Main benefit: Two essential effects in one compact enclosure, with enough range to move from subtle enhancement to expansive ambience.
Standout feature: The infinite repeats without runaway self-oscillation are brilliant for creating sustained ambient layers while remaining controllable.
Customers usually upgrade from: Separate basic delay and reverb pedals when they want to save pedalboard space and simplify operation.
Most commonly paired with: Overdrive, fuzz, chorus, phaser and other modulation effects.
Our tip: Don't assume the Dispatch Master needs huge settings. Start with relatively low Mix and Reverb, then gradually increase Time and Repeats. Some of its best everyday sounds come from using the ambience subtly behind your dry signal.
Showroom feedback: The simplicity is a major advantage. It delivers the spacious sounds associated with EQD without requiring tap tempo, presets, screens or complex secondary functions.
