A 1972 Les Paul Deluxe has arrived.
Production of the Les Paul resumed in 1968, and the Les Paul Deluxe debuted in 1969. It has carved out a unique niche distinct from models equipped with humbuckers. In addition to its short production run, the sound?which combines the delicacy and clarity unique to mini-humbuckers?has been reevaluated in recent years, and its presence in the market has been growing year by year.
This particular guitar was made in 1972 and bears the gMADE IN U.S.A.h stamp. It features a 3-piece mahogany neck, a gpancakeh body made of mahogany with maple layers sandwiched between, and is equipped with sticker-mounted mini-humbuckers. Itfs a Goldtop finish model?one of the most popular variants within the Deluxe series.
The tuners are Grover (PAT.PEND. U.S.A.), the bridge is the current-production ABR-1, and the front volume pot, pickguard (which has a crack around the screw holes), and jack plate have been replaced.
The frets and nut have been replaced; approximately 70% of the original frets remain. The neck is in good condition, and the truss rod is adjustable.
