Here for sale we have an Epiphone Les Paul with Bigsby in Transparent Red finish. Made in 1997 in Korea, this guitar features a Mahogany body with a figured Maple top, Mahogany neck and 22 fret Rosewood fingerboard. Other appointments include an Epiphone licensed B50 Bigsby and Kluson style tuning machines. A pair of Epiphone humbucking pickups are fitted and wired to traditional Les Paul controls that include a 3-way pickup selector and independent volume and tone controls.

The Mahogany neck plays very well, with the ‘C’ shaped profile sitting comfortably in the hand and providing a smooth and responsive playing surface in all registers. The Rosewood fretboard is pleasant under the fingers, and with its traditional 12" radius strikes a perfect balance between comfortable chord playing and practicality for lead lines and string bending. The medium jumbo frets offer a rock solid playing surface whilst enhancing vibrato feel. 

The pair of Epiphone humbuckers installed in this guitar offer a full and thick tone, exactly as you would expect for a Les Paul Standard.  The neck delivers a warm low end, driving mids and rounded yet clear high frequencies, perfect for rock solo tones. The bridge is hotter and provides a bright tone that saturates beautifully into distortion as you crank the gain, easily cutting through the mix. The traditional Les Paul control layout offers comprehensive control of your tone without over-complicating things.

Aesthetic Condition:

Headstock: Overall very good condition. The front face demonstrates light scratching throughout, only visible under direct light at certain angles. The top edge demonstrates light scuff marks to the centre and to the treble side of the rear face edge.

Neck: Overall very good condition. All aspects of the neck demonstrate light to mild scratching. Most notably an indentation to the rear of the neck in line with the 2nd fret. This cannot be felt by the hand in playing position. Mild scratching is apparent to the fingerboard at the 4th, 14th & 15th frets. These cannot be felt beneath the strings. Light cracking to the binding is apparent throughout the register.

Body: Overall very good condition. All aspects of the body demonstrate light to mild scratching and indentations. Most notably an indentation to the bass side of the rear face lower bout, which has marked but not removed any of the finish. A small indentation is apparent near the corner of the input jack plate. An indentation is apparent either side of the bass side waist, both of which have marked but not removed any of the finish.

Condition of Frets:

The frets demonstrate light signs of use, not affecting playability. There is considerable material remaining for any fret work the new owner may wish to perform.

Current Set Up:

Truss Rod: Fully functional. Truss rod tool (4mm hex) not included. A short tool must be used to access.

Hardware: Fully functional. Light to mild scratching and tarnishing is apparent to the tuning machines, bridge, tailpiece and pickup covers. The nut is leaning slightly due to ill fitting, the previous owner has used some filler to disguise this. Although visually apparent, the guitar plays without any intonation or tuning issues.

Structural: No concerns or issues to note.

Height of the string from the 12th Fret-1.5mm - Bass 2mm
