A USA Stratocaster with a large headstock that retains the distinct charm of the 1970s
A 1981 Fender Stratocaster. This instrument dates from the late CBS era and features a 1970s-style design, including a large headstock, a three-point neck joint, and a headstock-mounted Bullet truss rod.

Equipped with three single-coil pickups, it delivers the bright, clear tone characteristic of a Stratocaster. It excels not only in clean tones but also in its crisp response when lightly distorted, making it versatile for a wide range of genres including rock, blues, and pop.

Its distinctive, commanding appearance—a hallmark of the large headstock design inherited from the 1970s—is another key feature. This model embodies the unique character of a transitional period in the history of USA-made Stratocasters, coming just before subsequent specification changes.
Overall, it shows significant signs of use, including scratches, dents, paint chips, and tarnished or rusted parts.
The pickups have been replaced with ones from the same era, but the bridge pickup was rewound due to a broken wire.
The finish on the back of the neck was peeling off significantly, so it has been refinished.
The pickguard appears to have been replaced with one from the same era.
The neck is in perfect condition and plays well.
