The Plumes Mini Limited Edition is a highly limited version of the now-legendary EarthQuaker Devices overdrive pedal. To celebrate Gold Music’s 25th anniversary, the distributor collaborated with EarthQuaker Devices to create a trilogy of limited-edition, numbered pedals—with only 25 units produced for each of the three models—exclusive to the Italian market. These pedals are miniaturized versions of three best-sellers from the EarthQuaker Devices catalog: the Arrows, the Hizumitas, and the Plumes. They feature a stunning "Gold Sparkle 2026" finish created by EarthQuaker Devices specifically for this project; furthermore, the Hizumitas and Plumes models boast a worldwide exclusive regarding their form factor (the standard versions do not share these dimensions). While many overdrive pedals offer only a single sound, the EarthQuaker Devices Plumes Mini is different: its three clipping modes make it one of the most versatile overdrive stompboxes available. Mode 1 utilizes symmetrical clipping via a pair of light-emitting diodes (LEDs); this is the most aggressive setting the Plumes offers. When played through a clean amp, it delivers a tone reminiscent of a classic "black and gold" British tube amp; if the amp is already driven, this mode pushes the grit even further. Mode 2 is a clean boost setting. It completely eliminates diode soft-clipping, leaving you with pure OpAmp drive—perfect for pushing a clean signal or driving an already-overdriven preamp into a sweet spot of breakup. Mode 3 features an asymmetrical silicon diode arrangement similar to a standard "Screamer" circuit but with increased output and clarity—a sound often described as "transparent."
