A 1979 Stingray has just arrived!
The Stingray was released as a new-generation electric bass after Leo Fender left Fender, incorporating his expertise in electrical engineering into the instrument itself.
The instrument wefve just received was manufactured during the period commonly known as gPre-Ernieh?before Music Man was acquired by Ernie Ball in 1983.
Based on the dates stamped on the bass and treble pots, as well as the neck and neck pocket, we have determined this instrument to be a 1979 model.
It appears that the frets and nut have been replaced, and it is likely that the neck was refinished during the refretting process.
We replaced the volume pot because we detected a scratchy sound upon arrival.
The bridge mute is missing.
Additionally, the control knobs appear to have been replaced.
Although there is little remaining adjustment range in the truss rod, the guitar is currently set up to standard string height with a slight forward bow, and there are no issues with playability.
Overall, the guitar shows signs of use, with numerous dents, scuffs, and areas of peeling finish.
