Up for sale is a rare piece of analog history: a Sansui MR-6 6-Track Cassette Multitrack Recorder. Introduced in the late 1980s as a high-fidelity alternative to standard 4-track portastudios, this unit runs at double speed (9.5 cm/s) on Type II (CrO2) tapes and features built-in Dolby C noise reduction. It is a fantastic component deck for anyone building a vintage analog workflow.

Functional Condition & Bench Test Results:Please read carefully before purchasing. This unit has been tested with the following results:

• Tracks 1, 2, 4, 5, and 6: Fully operational. Audio records, plays back, and passes through beautifully with vintage warmth.
• Track 3: No audio input/output and no signal. The LED meter for Channel 3 is not respondig as there is no sound from track 3.
• Meters: The 12-segment LED ladder displays for Channels 1, 2, 4, 5, and 6 function perfectly.
• Tape Transport: Mechanical functions (Play, FF, REW, Pause) are strong, responsive, and working exactly as they should.
• Pitch Control: The ±20% varispeed knob is fully functional. Plastic piece is missing but it is only cosmetic (see picture)
• Cosmetics: Great vintage condition. Shows minor scuffs from rack mounting and age, but the faceplate is very clean. Please inspect the high-resolution photos for exact cosmetic details. Notice the pitch knob.

Listing Terms (Sold As-Is):Because Track 3 requires service/troubleshooting, this unit is being sold strictly As-Is / For Parts or Repair. This is an incredible project piece for a technician, or a highly capable 5-track machine right out of the box for someone looking to bounce sub-mixes to tape. No returns or partial refunds.

Shipping & Packaging: Analog tape decks are heavy and delicate. This unit will be wrapped in multiple layers of heavy-duty bubble wrap and shipped in a sturdy, double-walled box.
