Up for sale is a beautiful, all-original vintage Fender Deluxe console lap steel guitar, dating between late 1958 and 1961 (Golden Pre-CBS era). This instrument belonged to my grandfather and has been safely stored for decades.
Key Features & Details:
- Authenticity: Features the official Clarence Leo Fender tuning head patent stamp (PAT. 2.838.974) cleanly marked on the chrome headstock assembly. Original Fender "Spaghetti" logo plate is fully intact.
- Finish: Original Fender blonde nitrocellulose lacquer finish which has naturally aged into a gorgeous, creamy yellowish-tan hue over the last 60+ years. Minor natural edge wear gives it great vintage character.
- Completeness: Includes all three (3) original, factory metal telescopic legs. Sockets on the back are pristine with clean threads.
- Case: Includes the highly desirable, original transition-era Fender cream/gray textured Tolex hard case featuring a plush burnt-orange interior lining. The case interior is exceptionally clean.
Condition:
Great cosmetic shape for its age. Completely structurally sound with zero wood cracks. Two screws on the control plate show typical vintage surface rust (left untouched to preserve originality). The guitar currently has its old strings installed, and one string is missing. To preserve full originality, the instrument is being sold exactly as found without any modifications or new setups. A fresh set of strings will be required by the buyer. Ships fully insured with utmost professional care.
