A true relic of digital rhythm history, the Casio RZ-1 is one of the first affordable drum machines to include built-in sampling, making it a game-changer in the mid-80s and a cult favorite today.
With its 12 gritty PCM drum sounds, four assignable sample pads, and hands-on filter controls, the RZ-1 offers a unique blend of preset punch and raw lo-fi sampling power. From electro to industrial, hip-hop to experimental, this machine still cuts through with character and style.

Condition and Functionality
- Fully working – All functions tested, including sampling, playback, MIDI, and audio outs
- Cosmetic condition: Fair. Some of the front panel labels have faded or worn slightly due to a previous cleaning attempt (see photos). No cracks or structural issues but scratches or areas where the plastic has aged.
- Sound is excellent – the sampling section is responsive, the filter knobs work great to shape tone (from percussive to deep and booming)
