Original Framus Texan 5/196 L, built in December 1964 in Bubenreuth, Bavaria (West Germany) — a classic example of mid-’60s German craftsmanship from Framus, one of Europe’s most innovative post-war guitar builders.

Tone & Playability

Delivers a clear, articulate vintage tone — tight bass, crisp trebles, and strong midrange projection. The sound is focused and direct, offering more definition and less boom than most American dreadnoughts. Excellent note separation and natural compression, ideal for folk, blues, and fingerstyle. Frets are in excellent condition, and the playability is very comfortable for a 60-year-old instrument.

Condition

• Repaired areas visible on the sides (see photos); not professionally refinished but stable and solid.
• Tuning machines hold tuning well; setup is stable.
