This mic is of historical relevance, since it initiates RCA‘s transition between ribbon and dynamic mics. The moving element here is not a coil but a single wire. The saltshaker design looks still modern after more than 80 years. An XLR connector provides connectivity to modern standards. The mic has a cool vintage sound and adds an interesting color especially for voice applications. It‘s hard to find an RCA 88A and even harder to find a working one. A selfmade wooden stand is included.
