1965 Fender Stratocaster Lake Placid Blue - serial L95343

Offered for sale is a beautiful, early 1965 Fender Stratocaster that represents the ultimate player’s dream, combining spectacular vintage tone with a premium professional restoration.

This instrument was originally born in the highly coveted custom color factory Lake Placid Blue. A few years ago, it was discovered from its original owner by one of Italy’s finest professional musicians, Manuel Boni, who recognized its exceptional acoustic qualities and went on to use this special guitar extensively for high-profile touring and demanding studio work.

At some point in its past, the guitar had been refinished in Sunburst, though the original factory Lake Placid Blue finish remained perfectly preserved and visible inside all of the body cavities. To bring this legendary instrument back to its former glory, it was professionally and meticulously restored back to its original factory Lake Placid Blue finish by our renowned ToneTeam master luthier, Romano Burini. The body is paired with a sensational flamed maple neck and a beautiful, tight-grained dark Brazilian rosewood fingerboard.

THE "MANUEL BONI" STRATOCASTER
This early 1965 Stratocaster is a phenomenal sounding machine, possessing the exact feel and immediate response that top-tier session musicians look for. The heart of the guitar is its incredible, original early 1965 electronics assembly. The pickups still retain their factory windings and deliver that unmistakable, woody mid-60s chime, working in perfect harmony with the original pots and tone capacitor.

CONDITION & INTEGRITY
The guitar retains the vast majority of its original components. It is currently fitted with a player-friendly 5-way pickup selector switch for maximum versatility on stage or in the studio, while the original 1965 3-way switch is preserved inside the case pocket. The original aluminum pickguard shield has been slightly modified over the years, and the original pickguard was replaced in the 1980s with an authentic Fender "pearloid back" pickguard dating from 1968.

COLLECTOR'S NOTE
Custom color 1965 Stratocasters with dark Brazilian rosewood fretboards and naturally flamed necks are highly sought after by collectors and players alike. Thanks to the world-class restoration by Romano Burini and its proven history on the road with a top Italian professional, this Stratocaster offers the perfect opportunity to own a stunning custom color golden-era Fender that is primed and ready for the stage or collection.
