This is a Gibson LG-2 authenticated by Gruhn Guitars Nashville to be made in 1947. The guitar has a walnut stain overall with a sunburst top finish which is original and exibits typical deterioration with lacquer checking and play wear. as per the assessment from Gruhn's Guitars indicate this instrument conforms to the typiocal specifications for the model and period in which it was manufactured. The guitar has 14 1/8 wide flattop body, sitka spruce top with X bracing. The back and sides are mahogony with a dark walnut stain. The pick guard is grain tortoise shell and has a multi ply white and black soundhole rosette. The bridge is of Brazillian rosewood with two mother of pearl dot inlays. The neck is mahogany with an adjustable truss rod, with 19 frets ( 14 frets clear of teh body). The nut width is 1 11/16" and conforms to the usual 12" Gibson radius on the Brazilian rosewood fretboard, and has a 24 3/4" scale length. The above guitar has been restored with great care by GUITAR REPAIR SHACK CALGARY, with a neck reset, bridge re-build, re fret, and structural repairs as well as having an LR BAGGS Hi-Fi pickup system installed as well as a strap button added to the neck heel. The original Gruhn's guitar appraisal as well as the Guitar repair shack appraisal and invoice for restoration work are also included. Guitar comes with non original hardshell case.
