Solid State Logic (SSL) Nucleus V1 is a professional DAW control surface and audio interface released by Solid State Logic in 2011. It features 16 motorized touch-sensitive faders, two built-in SuperAnalogue mic preamps, and Ethernet-based DAW control. 

Core Hardware Features

  • Control Surface: Dual-layer touch-sensitive 100mm motorized faders, assignable soft keys, and a heavy-duty transport section supporting MCU (Mackie Control Unit) and HUI protocols. 
  • Connectivity: Connects to the host computer via Ethernet (ipMIDI) for multi-DAW control layers and USB for keyboard emulation.
  • Analog Section: Two pristine SuperAnalogue microphone preamplifiers with phantom power, high-Z instrument inputs, and an analog monitoring path.
  • DAW Integration: Capable of switching control between up to three separate software packages simultaneously (such as Pro Tools, Logic Pro, and Cubase). 
  • 4 IN/OUT USB Interface

Note that MacOS support for the USB AUDIO interface 4 in/out interface is limited to Yosemite. Note that DAW control and Keyboard emulation over USB is supported in all versions of MacOS
