What have those crazy Finns been up to now? We believe this to be a very early version, possibly a prototype of the now discontinued Flaxwood Blacksmith. The guitar is in excellent, only demoed condition and has never been sold.
Flaxwood uses an innovative new tone material in both neck and body, created by breaking the grain structure of natural wood and injection-molding it into shape together with an acoustically sensitive binding agent. On the Blacksmith model the body is lacquered black but the neck is just polished raw material, dyed in red and black, resulting in the neck having a completely individual look and appearance. All top grade hardware, Goth tuners and Schaller bridge and pickups, clearly indicating the ambition of the maker.
They themselves once called the material "moldable wood" The guitars are fully assembled by hand. All of the fretwork and fine-tuning are done by experienced luthiers. Flaxwood is also completely unaffected by abrupt changing in temperature, and humidity, making it a more reliable tone material in the constantly changing conditions of everyday use.
