About this listing
1929 Gibson L-0 based on my research. It has: Mahogany top, back, and sides unbound fretboard, 12 frets from the bodyposition markers at 3,5,7,9,12, and 15th fretsrosewood rectangular bridge w/ flat wingsno inside binding ring on sound hole14 3/4" lower bout with square bodywhite body binding front and backhas early 1900's FO# "X196" (first numeral is not clear, see photo)This is research I obtained from "Gibson's Fabulous Flattop guitars" book pub. 1994. Gibson was famously inconsistent with features during this period so it's not uncommon to find guitars with overlapping features from one year to the next. The Kluson nickel tuners are not original, nor are the string pegs. There is a crack repaired properly on the upper part of the waist and it was cleated from the inside, slightly visible from the outside but it is smooth and strong. The guitar plays and sounds wonderfully and weighs about 3 pounds. I would say it looks pretty good for it's age.
