1968 was a revolutionary year for the amplifier program at Fender. In terms of the sounds, these models were already milestones, and reappeared in a new and fresh look. When you hear someone mention the “Silverface” Twin, they are probably referring to the Deluxe Reverb Amp.
The 68 Custom PrincetonReverb is reminiscent of that time, when Silverfaces could be spotted in every Backline. With their clear and powerful tube sounds, rounded off by the spring reverb and vibrato, for many guitarists they are still the ultimate choice. Even non-players connect the classic sound of those days with the shiny-silver control panel of the PrincetonReverbs.
The input side of this newest version is equipped with modified circuitry, in order to improve foot pedal compatibility. Additionally, the dampening factor is reduced, bringing these into overdrive sooner through the greater response sensitivity.
