This is a stunner from Hagstrom - the Ultra Max Special is the quirky lovechild of Hagstrom's Swede and a Les Paul Custom. This impeccably built set neck guitar has got boatloads of cool sounds thanks to the Alnico 5 humbucker in the neck, mini humbucker in the middle and Alnico 2 humbucker at the bridge. They are wired through a five way switch (some positions are split), a single volume control and a single bass cut. It's a jack of all trades, but with a lot more character than you'd think: from funky cleans to fat distorted tones, this guitar delivers it with personality. The Ultra Max Special was a limited edition, and this sure is the coolest color you can get it in.
