Another quality Guitar from Lovies Guitars!

Lovies Guitars is excited to present this 1968 Gibson L-5CES Florentine Hollow Body Electric Guitar finished in classic Sunburst. As one of the most prestigious archtops ever produced by Gibson, the L-5CES represents the pinnacle of vintage jazz guitar craftsmanship, combining luxurious appointments, master-level construction, and legendary hollowbody tone.

The Florentine cutaway design gives this instrument an elegant and unmistakable vintage aesthetic while allowing improved upper fret access. Built with carved tonewoods and premium electronics, the L-5CES delivers warm lows, articulate mids, shimmering highs, and exceptional dynamic response—ideal for jazz, blues, and sophisticated clean playing applications.

The Sunburst finish paired with multiply binding, split block inlays, gold hardware, and floating pickguard showcases the timeless elegance that has made the L-5CES a favorite among professional musicians for decades.

This example remains largely original (OG) with a replaced pickguard and replaced strap buttons. It comes complete with a hardshell case (HSC).

Condition is rated at 9/10 – Very Good for its age. The guitar shows tarnishing on the hardware, small marks throughout consistent with age and use, micro lines on the replacement pickguard, and a double hole near one screw location. Overall, this is a very clean and well-preserved vintage L-5CES with excellent presentation for its age.
