Gibson J-45 Special Satin Ebony at a glance

With the Gibson J-45 Special Satin Ebony, the US manufacturer presents its latest model in the iconic series, also known as The Workhorse. As usual, this electro-acoustic round-shoulder dreadnought impresses with exquisite tonewoods in solid construction, comfortable playability and a professional pickup of the L. R. Baggs brand. In combination with its stunning design, the acoustic guitar is perfect for both live performances and studio recordings, where it delivers a flawless performance at all times. The instrument is rounded off by a practical premium gig bag included in the scope of delivery, which also ensures safe transportation and storage.

Solid body

The guitar owes its powerful sound to its solid Sitka spruce top and solid mahogany back and sides, which produce a balanced tone in addition to a high sound volume. The result of this popular tonewood combination is an interplay of brilliant highs and warm mids, making the model a true all-rounder. The top is also equipped with Scalloped X bracing, which once again enhances the assertive sound with its flat bracing.

Short scale length

The high playability of the Gibson J-45 Special Satin Ebony is due on the one hand to its gentle round-shoulder shape and on the other to its shortened scale length of 628 mm. This has a lower string tension, which requires less force when gripping and therefore makes complex fingerings particularly comfortable. Furthermore, the guitar neck has an ergonomic slim taper neck profile, which sits perfectly in the hand, while a compensated bridge inlay and tuning-stable Grover Rotomatic tuners guarantee clean intonation.

Pickup with volume control

Meanwhile, L.R. The Baggs Element Bronze pickup provides professional amplification for acoustic guitars. The system stands out with its pure and detailed sound reproduction, which captures every nuance perfectly. The sound hole features a discrete volume control that can be adjusted individually. This allows the sound to be perfectly adapted to a wide range of ambient conditions, ensuring that the instrument's tonal expressiveness remains constant.

Black finish

The guitar has an eye-catching satin Ebony finish. This deep black is a Gibson colour palette classic with a timeless character that lends a unique visual appeal to the setting. This is enhanced by a classic black pickguard that emphasises the Vintage look, while cream-coloured single-ply bindings and a harmonising single-ring rosette provide a defined frame.
