Key features:

Headband type: T-123-TIMPANI. According to Ludwig classification of the time, this refers to a standard timpani head. ✔️

Profile Series: A distinctive feature of this series is the extended collar, which extends beyond the rim of the timpani bowl. This provides better resonance, pitch clarity, and a wider tuning range. ✔️

Weight/Thickness (db-750): The db-750 marking indicates a medium weight. The thickness of this head is approximately 7.5 mils (0.0075 inches), making it versatile for a variety of performance styles. ✔️

Headlock Technology: These heads were manufactured using a patented all-metal fastening system that prevents the head from being pulled out of the rim even under high tension. ✔️

Historical Note:

Until 1978, the extended "Profile" collar was only installed on professional timpani models (Professional and Dresden). The head also bears patent number RE26,415, which is typical for genuine Ludwig parts from the 1960s and 1970s. ✔️

Today, these heads are considered vintage, very rare and are of interest to collectors or owners of historic Ludwig instruments seeking to preserve the original sound of that era. ✔️
