This used Epiphone Les Paul is a real player Paula with character and history – and yes, it has already been through a lot!
The frets were leveled by me. I always work as material-friendly as possible – on two frets you can still see very slight dents, but when playing you don’t notice anything of it. Playing comfort? Top!
There is clearly visible damage on the top – see pictures. It looks very much like heat or fire damage. The pickup rings are also slightly melted. Someone probably tried to smooth the whole thing with filler – maybe prepared for a refinish… but then left it. Good! In the Custom Shop they would easily charge you a fat extra for such an honest wound ;-)
A real highlight is the long tenon neck – yes, it’s not only found on the Czech models, but also on selected Korean ones like this one here. And yes, the guitar sings accordingly. Sustain, warmth, expression – it delivers!
The electronics have been reworked:
• Gibson and Japan pots
• old capacitors
• original pickups – and they sound really nicely authentic
Bottom line: An honest, road-worn Epiphone with soul, history and real mojo. Not a showroom princess, but a real tool for people who play – and feel.
