The Epiphone Les Paul Standard from Bohemia is in an exceptionally good condition. The Paula from the Musico-Delicia factory – rare, high-quality and with a real long-tenon neck. A classy instrument, dressed in black and with gold hardware, that you hardly find like this anymore. The previous owner was a songwriter from the west of Munich and gave it away because she now only plays her acoustic.
It is in a very nice, original condition except for the high-quality open-gear tuners. The gold hardware shines excellently, and overall the guitar has only minimal signs of play – really impressive for its age. The finish is the classic, timeless Ebony and with the gold hardware it is almost like a Custom.
The frets are almost like new, but we leveled them. We gave it a careful setup and set it up with low action – it now plays buttery smooth and direct.
The sound is clear and punchy, like you’d expect from the original Schaller pickups.
This Epi comes from the Musico-Delicia factory (Bohemia), one of the most sought-after production sites. Typical for this production period:
• very good materials
• excellent workmanship
• Schaller pickups (unbranded)
• long tenon neck
• Gibson truss rod
Such models are rare and absolutely convincing in sound and playability – clearly above the Epis from Korea or China.
