I am offering a Martin 000-28 Custom Shop Expert Authentic 1937 Ambertone from 2022, a handcrafted in the Martin Custom Shop in Nazareth, USA, exclusive Expert series reissue acoustic guitar model with handy 000 body shape, selected Adirondack spruce top over scalloped X-bracing, back and sides made of richly figured East Indian rosewood, set-in mahogany neck with Modified V neck profile and 44.45mm bone nut, precious ebony fretboard with elaborate Squares & Diamonds abalone inlays, ebony bridge with glued long bone saddle and Waverly Open Back Butterbean nickel tuners in Ambertone Burst Vintage Gloss Nitrocellulose finish with herringbone bindings and tortoise pickguard in absolutely mint condition, including black Martin luxury hardshell case and professional setup with 12-gauge Elixir strings.
This Custom Shop Expert 000-28 Authentic 1937 is part of the exclusive Authentic 1937 series, which is available exclusively through Custom Shop Expert dealers (35 dealers worldwide!) and is meticulously based on the historical specifications of the late 1930s while offering current Custom Shop workmanship. Only the adjustable truss rod deviates from the historical model in order to bring the adjustability of the guitar up to a modern standard. The use of classic hide glue remains historically accurate, of course. The 000 body shape with a 14-fret neck heel combines very comfortable handling with focused projection and amazing dynamics – ideal for fingerstyle, singer-songwriter accompaniment or studio work.
The hand-selected thin Adirondack spruce top over traditional scalloped X bracing, also made of Adirondack spruce, together with solid East Indian rosewood back and sides, ensures a tonal balance of brilliance, fine response, and powerful fundamental tone.
Particularly striking is the enormous liveliness and depth with which this instrument responds to every nuance of playing. The modified V neck profile with a 30's style heel fits comfortably in the hand and conveys a very classic, yet by no means bulky playing feel.
With a scale length of 632mm and a 44.45mm wide bone nut, the guitar offers a perfect balance between comfort and precision.
A sound sample of the model can be found above at the end of the photo gallery.
The detailed vintage look makes this model a real highlight: herringbone bindings, a tortoise pickguard, and the beautiful amber tone burst finish in thin vintage gloss nitro lacquer, which gives the tonewoods a noble antique flair, characterize the look of this guitar. The open Waverly Butterbean tuners round out the historical appearance.
