I’m offering my 1968 Gibson SG Special for sale. This guitar is completely original, with the exception of two old “paper-in-oil” tone capacitors and two additional screw holes between the bridge pickup and the bridge (likely from a Roland synth pickup or similar accessory). The pickup and electronics cavity has been shielded with conductive paint to reduce hum.

It’s a fantastic guitar with great frets. It comes in the original softshell case and weighs only 3.05 kg. For a small additional cost, I can include a nearly new Hiscox case that was purchased specifically for this guitar.

This guitar is truly special, and I’ve gone back and forth for a long time about whether I should let it go. But I made another guitar dream come true so it has to go.

You’re welcome to try it out in Berlin, near Ostbahnhof. Shipping is no problem either. Please have a close look at the pictures – due to its age, the guitar naturally has some wear. But it’s beautifully resonant, with a woody and powerful tone. The pickups have plenty of output and are a lot of fun to play. Also, the neck is thankfully not as thin as most modern SGs. It’s more of a medium C profile, which feels very comfortable in the hand.
