With the electro acoustic Gibson Southern Jumbo Original VS, Gibson expands their Original Series by a traditional round-shoulder acoustic guitar in authentic vintage design. Due to its lightweight construction, the guitar builds up an amazingly fast response, which is further enhanced by a wafer-thin nitrocellulose lacquer and a flat Scalloped-X-Bracing, allowing the material to vibrate freely. An all solid construction consisting of a Sitka spruce top and a mahogany body provides clear, distinct mid and high frequencies, that are gently complemented by warm and expressive basses. Thanks to a flat mahogany neck with slim tapered neck profile, a 43.8 mm nut width and a 628.6 mm scale length, the instrument can be played very comfortably up to the highest of the 20 frets all over the rosewood fingerboard decorated with mother-of-pearl parallelogram inlays. Open nickel tuners grace the signature Gibson headstock and, combined with a vintage sunburst finish and elaborate inlays, add a very traditional touch that subtly evokes the rich history of the company. An L.R. Baggs VTC pickup system completes the piece and ensures a clean and natural amplified sound.
