Mo Says...

The trick with a good looper is knowing when to stop adding layers. I've yet to master this myself, but the JamMan Express XT makes the process wonderfully straightforward. An entire band in one small blue box, provided you're willing to play every part.

Notable Particulars

• Up to 10 minutes of stereo loop recording with unlimited overdubs, ideal for building layered compositions and practising.
• 24-bit audio conversion delivers clear, detailed recordings with excellent sound quality.
• Stereo inputs and outputs accommodate guitars, keyboards and stereo effects setups, while also supporting mono operation.
• JamSync connectivity allows synchronisation with other compatible DigiTech JamMan pedals for coordinated multi-track looping.
• True bypass switching preserves your original signal when disengaged, while three coloured LEDs provide clear recording, overdubbing and playback status.

The Details

The DigiTech JamMan Express XT is a compact, straightforward stereo looper designed for guitarists, bassists and other musicians looking to explore layered performances, develop musical ideas or practise over their own accompaniment. With a single footswitch and dedicated loop level control, it keeps operation refreshingly simple while offering the essential features of a versatile looping pedal.

Recording, playback and overdubbing are all controlled through the footswitch, with colour-coded LEDs indicating the current operating mode. The pedal offers up to 10 minutes of recording time in stereo, with unlimited overdubs for building arrangements one layer at a time. DigiTech's Silent Clear feature prevents unwanted playback when deleting loops, while the true bypass design maintains signal integrity when the pedal is disengaged.

A particularly useful feature is JamSync, which allows multiple compatible JamMan devices to be synchronised for more elaborate looping arrangements. Stereo connectivity also makes the Express XT suitable for keyboards and effects-heavy guitar rigs. It can operate from a 9V battery or a compatible 9V DC power supply.

This example is finished in metallic blue and shows some cosmetic signs of use, including marks around the loop level control and footswitch, but remains presentable overall.
