This Gibson L-00 was built in Bozeman, Montana in 2001 and features a particularly interesting specification. With a body depth of approximately 120 mm at the lower bout, this is a rarer Deep Body version. The combination of the compact L-00 body and additional depth is somewhat reminiscent of the historic Gibson Nick Lucas models.

The deeper body gives this guitar considerably more volume and foundation than you might expect from a traditional L-00. Combined with a spruce top and mahogany back and sides, it delivers the classic Gibson character with strong mids, a dry foundation and a wonderfully woody tone.

This guitar has been played extensively over many years and it shows in the best possible way. It has opened up beautifully and produces an exceptionally lively, characterful and inspiring sound. For us, this is one of those guitars where the many hours of playing have become an essential part of its character. Tonally, it is truly an outstanding guitar.

For amplified use, a high-quality Takamine TRI-AX 2 soundhole pickup is installed. It can be operated in active or passive mode and features a volume control directly on the pickup. It can also be easily removed if the guitar is to be played completely acoustically.

Condition:
Used condition with extensive authentic playwear and numerous signs of use from many years of playing and live performances. This is not a collector-grade guitar, but a heavily played and beautifully broken-in instrument with plenty of character and authentic vintage appearance. The guitar has been carefully checked and professionally set up by us.
