Plug & Play Siemens V274 mic preamp

The V274 was originally designed as a distribution amp for line level signals.
It features a very sturdy class A output amp, capable of driving low Z loads.
All of the bigger Siemens "Sitral" broadcasting consoles from the 1960s were loaded with a plethora of these modules.

It's an all discrete design with beautiful Siemens and Haufe made transformers on the input and output.
The same kind of iron you'd find in a V276 or a V272.
The Siemens really has a beefy tone to it.
Lots of mojo from the transformers.

Here's what has been done to the module:

- Replaced all electrolytic capacitors related to power filtering and audio coupling
- Wired the 3 individual output windings of the output transformer in series to add gain
- Wired the two input windings of the input transformer in parallel vs. in series to lower the input
impedance and to add another 6dB gain
- Added a gain knob to the front panel. Its range is 18 .. 46dB
=> Ideal for work with condenser mics or dynamic mics on louder sources.

The module comes with a matching harness with XLR I/O and power.
The PSU will run worldwide with 100 .. 250V mains.
I'll throw in a mechanical adapter piece for US power sockets if needed.
