The Tweed ’57 is an “amp-in-a-box” overdrive pedal inspired by the character of vintage Fender Tweed amps from the late 1950s. It ranges from a light, warm, compressed and dynamic breakup to a thicker, grittier overdrive, with excellent sensitivity to picking attack and guitar volume. It features Volume, Drive, Bass, Mid and Treble controls, along with a Normal / Bright / Linked switch that allows you to alter the response and character of the gain. Particularly convincing with a Stratocaster or Telecaster, it is ideally suited to blues, country, roots rock and ’50s/’60s rock, delivering a woolly character, natural compression and a response reminiscent of a real Tweed amplifier being pushed hard.
