They’re not as dark sounding as the Civil War Muffs, giving them a slight gritty edge and a rudeness that sets them apart.Vintage examples showed inconsistencies in the parts used, so Wren and Cuff selected a particularly sweet sounding pedal as a reference when creating the Tall Font Russian.Each Tall Font Russian is equipped with specially modified pots to prevent the low-mid range from becoming too muddy, contributing to the more overdrive-like quality these pedals can produce.This characteristic boxy growl makes them excellent for bass and ideal for creating growling, raunchy guitar tones!The lows of the Tall Font Russian have an overdriven compression that keeps them tight, while the highs exhibit a rich upper-harmonic quality.
